Canceling risk evaluation approvals

Roles and permissions

The following users can cancel risk evaluation approvals:

  • Anyone with manager permissions for the evaluation.

After submitting a risk evaluation for approval, all fields are locked and can’t be edited. You may discover that you need to make more edits to the evaluation. To unlock the evaluation details, you can change the status from Submitted back to In progress by clicking the Cancel Approvals button, provided no approver has started the approval process.

Note: If an approver has started the approval process and you need to cancel the approvals, ask any approver to mark their approval decision as Change requested. This will cancel any open approvals, set the evaluation status back to In progress, and unlock the evaluation fields.

When you click Cancel Approvals, the following happens:

  • All open approvals for the evaluation are cancelled.

  • The evaluation status returns to In progress, unlocking the evaluation details for editing.

  • The Submit button becomes available again so you can resubmit the evaluation for approval when your changes are done.

  • The Activity Feed is updated with an entry indicating when, why, and by whom the approvals were cancelled.

  • When you click Submit again, the prior cancelled approvals are moved to the Approval History section of the right pane, and new approval records are created.

To cancel the approvals:

  1. From the left menu, select Assessments.

  2. Select the risk assessment containing the evaluation you want to update.

  3. Select the Evaluations tab.

  4. Locate and open the evaluation with the approvals you want to cancel.

  5. Click the Cancel Approvals button.
