Overview
When attempting to access a proof on an audit request, you may encounter an "Access denied" error. This is expected behavior if an org-level User, Compliance Manager, or Limited Access User is an audit Contributor. This article outlines the explicit permissions required to view the proof successfully.
Key benefits
Understand expected behavior: Quickly identify why an "Access denied" error occurs on an audit request proof.
Resolve permission issues: Learn the two distinct methods to grant a user the proper access required to view proof materials.
Accessing proof on an audit request
If you experience an "Access denied" error when trying to access proof, you must complete one of the following two options to gain access:
Option 1: Manually add the user as a direct Contributor
You can update the user's role directly on the proof asset to grant them immediate access.
Navigate to the proof facepile.
Manually add the user as a direct Contributor.
Change their role from indirect to direct Contributor.
Option 2: Request Manager access on the audit
Alternatively, access can be granted hierarchically through the audit itself.
Navigate to the audit facepile.
Be granted Manager access.
Note for Organization Administrators:
Organization Administrations will also see the access denied error as an audit Contributor. To successfully view the proof, Admins can open the proof facepile, click "Join" to upgrade their access from inherited Contributor to direct Manager, then refresh the page.
