When LiveSync is turned on, Hyperproof imports a new version of your file(s) any time a change is made to the source file. For more information, including supported services and sync types, refer to Managing proof: LiveSync.
Note: Because Hyperproof can't detect changes in Confluence, Confluence files are updated every day.
To use the LiveSync feature, you must first link proof from an external storage provider in one of the following ways:
|
Note: Proof can be uploaded via a request, but LiveSync must be turned on via the Proof main list.
To use LiveSync with a request, navigate to the Proof tab, open the proof, and then select the LiveSync checkbox.
While in the Proof Picker, be sure to do the following:
Select the file(s) or folder(s) you want to link. Note that only files in the selected folder will be synchronized. Additionally, if you turn LiveSync off for a particular piece of proof within a folder, LiveSync becomes disabled on all pieces of proof in that folder. For more information see, Turning off LiveSync.
Refer to Managing proof: LiveSync for information on supported sync types.
Note: Hyperproof does not sync folders within folders (sub-folders). To sync sub-folders, you must select them individually.
Turn on LiveSync by selecting the LiveSync checkbox at the bottom of the Proof Picker.
A confirmation window displays the list of files to synchronize when LiveSync is turned on.
Click Confirm to continue.
Click Add proof.
Note: Hyperproof checks for file and folder updates nightly. You can manually trigger an update by viewing the proof via the Proof tab and then selecting Sync now.
If you forgot to turn on LiveSync, or if you only want to turn it on for a single piece of proof that is not within a folder, you can turn it on after the proof has been linked.
Note: If using the Confluence integration with Hyperproof's LiveSync feature, LiveSync converts the Confluence page URL to a PDF.
A note about renaming files
By design, LiveSync connections break if the original file is moved or deleted from cloud storage. In Hyperproof, LiveSyncs are based on file IDs, not file names.
If you plan to rename files, it's best to set up a folder sync by enabling LiveSync for the entire folder instead of for individual files. This ensures that any new files added to the folder are automatically synced to Hyperproof.
Keep in mind that, even with folder sync, a renamed file (e.g., 'policy.pdf' to 'new_policy.pdf') appears in Hyperproof as a new piece of proof, not as a new version of the original file. To avoid confusion, we recommend treating the renamed files as new versions manually. For example, if the original file is named '2024 Policy.pdf', name the updated file '2025 Policy.pdf' before adding it to the synced folder.
LiveSync and policy documents
When a policy document with LiveSync enabled is moved to the Effective stage, Hyperproof turns off the LiveSync and locks the document so it can't be edited. In some cases, you may need to perform a final synchronization between the cloud storage document and the policy document stored in Hyperproof to include changes, such as the approval date or the list of approvers.
To do a final sync when making the document the Effective policy, check the Sync the latest changes from the source before making it effective checkbox on the Make Effective window. See Making a policy document the effective policy version.
Note: You can't undo this final sync once you make the policy document Effective.
